Potato in the lead role - a new hero in the world of street food snacks.

The concept of portraying a potato as a comic character - an innovative idea for a snack that has conquered the street food market. The cuisine market of Warsaw keeps developing as new restaurants and food trucks emerge. They all constantly step up the game and seek new actions to attract new customers. This time it's all about the deep-fried slices of extraordinary, carefully selected and colorful potatoes that won the hearts of tourists during the Night Market in 2019.

Scope

The project of creating and promoting the comic-styled potatoes was divided into three main parts - branding, graphics and popularization. The essential aspect of branding was to make the comic series explicitly associated with Chill'n'Chips, but also to create a name and logo that attract the attention of the customer. In graphics we've put a great emphasis on the creation of characters to play in the series of comics. They had to be very characteristic, eye-catching and to attract the interest of the viewer just with the looks to encourage them to venture into the world of our potatoes and to stay in it for longer.

The goal of the promotional part was reaching the largest possible audience, who could be interested in the comics series to an extend that would stimulate them to try the snacks served by Chill'n'Chips. The key factors of success were market segmentation as well as the selection of target, whose culinary demand had the highest chance of being met by the products of Chill'n'Chips.

Outcomes

We've created the character of Mr. Potato, whose conversations with co-potatoes in the form of short and simple comics allowed the Chill'n'Chips restaurant to reach a wider range of potential customers and to promote their products. The introduction of the series of comics to the company's social media was twined with the promotion of potato-based dishes. The product photos were taken in a laid-back, holiday-like atmosphere. This is because the goal was to make Chill'n'Chips associated with this kind of climate.

The new role of potatoes - since the introduction of our comics to the world of social media, the potatoes have played the lead role not only in the comics, but also in the kitchen of our partner Chill'n'Chips.

Street-Appearance of potatoes - the characters of our comics use street slang in conversations, but also wear characteristic, trendy full-caps. All of that contributed to the audience associating the street-style of potatoes with the street-food nature of Chill'n'Chips.

Innovation - Together with the introduction of our project, Chill'n'Chips have released their new potato chips in an extraordinary form. Both parts have excellently worked together and created a coherent image of the brand.
